However, these joyous occasions are definitely worth looking forward to as we see our friends/relatives tying the knot with their loved ones.

Not sure about you gals, but I do enjoy attending wedding dinners as I get to catch up with friends/classmates that I do not get to meet often especially after we started working and everyone has to set their own priorities due to the lesser time for personal life.

But one thing that troubles me and I believe, most of you gals out there, is what to wear for the occasion?!

So, I have decided to manufacture a lovely evening dress for FMTP’s upcoming collection! The dress is so lovely, my models and friends couldn’t stop raving abt it!

I even have second degree friends buying the dresses from me before the launch as their bridesmaid dresses (thanks to qx)!! I’m so happy that FMTP gets to play a part in one of the most important days of their lives!

Wondering if it’s something to be happy about…as the magic number goes up, I find my skin less supple, eyes look smaller, energy level decreasing..

But one thing never change these years, my wonderful friendships and my loved ones are always so supportive of me and show so much love for me! :*)

Anyway, something random…I chanced upon a cute toddler contest..and I saw this cute little toddler who just turn one today!!! which means she’s born exactly 25 years later than me and she shares the same name as me!!

I have just started on my new job last week 3 weeks ago and as much as I love my new working environment, I’m still feeling the fatigue and lack of energy for working 8 to 5 and “working” again at night for FMTP.

Have so many things I wanna do for FMTP, but I know I will always lag behind the others who are managing their blogshops full-time no matter how late I sleep at night :( I have considered going into full-time for FMTP, but given my mum’s nagging nature and the huge capital that I need for FMTP, I chose to take up this job offer.

Speaking about the huge capital that I need, I recently heard about a thread in flowerpod that discusses about online blogshops (sorry if i’m outdated for knowing about this only until now ), so I went in to see what comments people have about FMTP and other blogshops.

There are not many discussions about FMTP except for the frequent updates on the blogshop launches’ date/time (thanks to the kind podder who includes FMTP in the list ). However, there are a couple of “not-so-good” comments about FMTP which I wanted to clarify but well, I guess I better not appear to be defensive so I didn’t make any comments on the threads.

However, the comments were really bothering me that entire night when I read them…

There was a particular comment from a podder who says that she has a friend who used to be our model and commented that the quality of our clothes is not really good, after the podder was being recommended by another podder to visit FMTP for office wear.

To be honest, when FMTP first started out a few years back (2007 in fact), we had little experience about what kind of design/quality customers are looking for and it was difficult to find a balance between a good cost price and good quality. So it may be true that back then, the quality of our clothes may not be really ideal. However, as time passes by and we gained more experience, I’m proud to say that we make wise choices in our apparels sourcing and manufacturing now and in fact, I have been receiving many emails from customers to say how much they like their purchases and words of encouragement to encourage me to continue bringing in pretty and quality apparels.

Anyway, the reason I’m relating the huge capital that I need to fork out with the recent comments I saw from Flowerpod, is because there are a couple of podders who commented that FMTP is expensive.

Firstly, I believe all blogshops have their own justification of their own profit margins and sometimes different suppliers can have varying cost prices with varying quality.

I do not deny that FMTP may be priced higher than most of the other blogshops, in particular for our office wear series, if you have noticed from our recent Allure Series collections.

To be very frank, I have been sourcing for boutique quality office wear from new suppliers and the cost price of any particular dress is even higher than the average selling price of a dress at other blogshops. Imagine that the cost price is already exceeding the average selling price of other blogshops, it’s really not possible for me to price those dresses at $20+

I can actually price the dresses just slightly higher with minimum profit, but sadly, we online sellers are actually controlled by some of the work wear suppliers to not undercut the boutique prices.  That’s the reason why FMTP and some other blogshops selling boutique quality work wear cannot afford to price the clothes at the same level as the average selling prices of a typical dress at most blogshops.

We do sell lower prices compared to boutiques but the gap cannot be too huge. However, sometimes boutiques do sell at outrageous prices; there was a particular dress which I priced at $50 mailed but my colleague saw a shop retailing the same dress at $129.90.

I sometimes wonder if I have chosen the wrong strategy, should I stick to average (not bad, but not as good as boutique quality) quality office wear and set my prices at average prices? Probably buyers find it insecure to purchase a $40+ or $50+ dress without trying it on first? I will definitely need to monitor the sales of my office wear collections and feedbacks from my customers to work on something.

Currently, it only seems possible for me to set my manufactured work apparels at more average prices since they are more within my control.

I do seek for my customers’ understanding that I always try my best to provide sincere prices to my buyers.

Lastly, do stay tune for our next collection! (I’m aiming to launch this coming Sunday!) FMTP will be launching an extremely gorgeous dress that can work as both a bridesmaid dress and an evening cocktail dress. The pictures are absolutely stunning too!

This H&M inspired piece looks really good on most people wearing it and all my friends who tried it couldn’t resist getting a piece for themselves!

I think I have shared the pic of the original H&M piece on this space before…but no harm sharing it again!

The original H&M piece was sent to the factory as a sample so it was fabricated almost 100% similar!

To be honest, I’m secretly wishing that FMTP’s fanpage will hit 2000 LIKES at least but I know this will take a lot more time and effort to reach…

I know other blogshops who have many LIKES on their fanpage must have gained their popularity through a lot of serious hard work and money put into manufacturing exclusive and pretty designs…and I truly admire their perseverance and determination.

It’s really easy starting an online business but to sustain and grow it is definitely not an easy feat AT ALL

But I know, giving up is never an option for me…so I will definitely hang on and I need you gals’ support!

I know that there are just soooo many online shopping options out there but there are some of you gals’ who are really sweet and supportive of FMTP during these years :*)

I will definitely work hard to bring in more pretty FMTP exclusive designs for you gals!

Have been wanting to blog but there’s just so many things going on! I thought I would have more time for myself after I quit my job but seems like there may just be slightly a litttleee more time here and there…but am still busy like a bee!

I’m gonna head down to FEP to fill up the racks for Blogshopping!

The shop’s grand opening is expected to be on 1st Sept 2011!

I’m kinda excited since it’s the first time FMTP is gonna have a rack at a shopping mall! Hope this will help to open up more awareness about FMTP

Got to know a couple of blogshop owners recently as well! We are thinking of a collaboration to open up our customer base and you gals can also get to enjoy more exclusive designs with the collaboration going on! Still under a lot of discussion!

I will be putting up mostly slightly backdated designs and a couple of new designs as well.

Many people told me that she looks like she was wearing separates, but I’m gonna make it into a dress! Cute, isn’t it?

Saw the sample and I really fell in love with it! The dress will come in 4 yummy colour combis and I hope you gals will like it as much as I do!

The dress will be ready in about 1-2 months’ time! Still long way to go I know, but I just can’t wait to share with you gals!

Happy Saturday, everyone!

So far, it has been a tiring but enjoyable one for me! I woke up early in the morning for a photoshoot with Xuan and Amelia! And this time, I engaged one of my ex-colleagues, to be the photographer of the day and I’m really pleased with how the photos turn out! Can’t wait to show you gals in the next launch!

We wasted some time because we all got mixed up with the location! I didn’t know there was Punggol park (at Hougang) and Punggol Promenade (at Punggol)?! And the models were waiting for me at the Hougang one when we were supposed to meet at the Punggol one! We also thought the weather was kinda gloomy and we prayed really hard that it wouldn’t rain but luckily it didn’t! :*)

I never thought it will come so soon; I have been contemplating about the resignation since ages ago and finally did it on 18th July 2011 after 3 years in the company…and the 1 mth notice period just went past in a flash!

There were many fond memories in the company especially the good times spent with my colleagues and getting to know one another better as time goes by.

I’m sure that I will gonna miss them

Well, anyway here’s a sneak preview of Collection 76, My Sweet Diary!

Naming this collection “My Sweet Diary” cos I think Amelia and Ee Xuan look really sweet in the apparels this collection! They look like long-time besties in the dual shots. :*)

This is one of my favourite pieces this collection! I just love all the 3 colours and the cutesy polka dot prints!

This striped lace trimmed tunic is really sweet! Perfect with floral accessories and wedges.

What about an oversized soft hearts print tee for the weekend? :*)

Loving the denim skirt in light wash and the denim shorts which can easily match with most of the tops in our wardrobe!

We know the polka dot fever hasn’t ended, so we have brought in these pretty chiffon polka dot tops! Totally loving it! :*)

This cutesy mini hearts print top in unique persian green and electric blue is definitely not to be missed as well!

I wore this dress out on a date with ddd for his bdae celebration… :*) Brought him to Riders Cafe because I love the serenity over there, only on weekdays I guess!

We reached there pretty late and we didn’t get to order any of their main courses! I didn’t know there’s a last order time for their main courses! But we ordered fries and fried squid (which are the only cooked food available) and they are equally good!

Coffee for ddd and Caramel Macchiato for myself… Did I mention that both of us are coffee addicts?

Death by Chocolate Cake…this is damn good! *warning, share this among 3 at least…the portion is real big!*
