It’s been a week since ling went back to US…

at the beginning, it was kinda hard…

having to adapt back to the life without his presence.

and right after he left,

I fell sick!

it seems like I get sick quite easily nowadays.

probably due to those late nights that I’m having all this while.

or maybe I’m just getting old. haha.

However, everything’s getting better now!

and I’m slowly adapting back to those days when I was alone.

of course with the help of my girlies, everything’s easier.

the day after ling went back,

I met up with the girlies for some shopping and dinner.

We tried on pegs’ kuku sunglasses.

haha I think we look damn funny.

I bought a top from ztamp at far east.

I used to be a regular there, but it’s been a long time since I bought sth there.

It’s nice catching up with jean and candy.

btw, jean’s the shop owner.

she’s a really really pretty and capable lady,

who has her own style and opinions.

and she’s a lecturer!

but hell no, she doesn’t look a single bit like a typical professor or lecturer u see in sch.

everytime I see her, she looks so fashion forward and doll-like!

just like those jap harajuku gals.

she’s someone whom I’m looking up to. hehe.

and candy is jean’s pretty cousin!

I like her, she’s very nice! hehe.

and after walking around,

and as we were waiting for our seats at sushi tei,

we went for some drinks and light food at starbucks!

I love the chunky chocolate scone there!

It’s great for those who doesn’t like too sweet stuff and also wants a small serving of pure indulgence!

Oh god, I didn’t realise that I have not been blogging for more than a month.
Yes I’m sorry, I haven’t been very active lately.
The last month past really quickly.Let me think…
What did I do for the past one month…
well, I got back my results!
and good news is…I have graduated!
I was really happy and relieved that now everything is over (at least the studying part)..
but this also means another stage of my life is going to begin soon.

and yup, besides getting back my results and collecting my convo gown,
I was actively looking for jobs.
It’s like a mundane cycle of life.
study, study, study.
work, work, work and still work…
until you get old.

As I was looking through the jobs online,
I really regretted the choice that I made when I was younger.
I shouldn’t have gone to a jc.
I didn’t enjoy my jc days at all.
It was far from my sec sch days which I guessed was the most colourful sch days in my life.

I regretted not doing well for my jc,
and having to end up in a course which I didn’t enjoy at all too.
(although I did merely survive through the 4 yrs)
I didn’t like what I studied at all,
worse still, all the jobs that I’m interested in require a cert in other courses.

But well, I thought a lot about my future.
I’m sure this is not what I want.
I don’t want just a 9 to 5 job,
looking forward to 5pm everyday.

I have been reading some self-help books lately.
They really did helped me to get back my energy and motivation when I was in sec sch.
I know I can do a lot better in everything.
and I will do better from now on.

Ok and one good news is…
my ah ling is back!
back from the far far away from US.
he bought me a little kate spade bag.
I love that brand!
and he remembers that!
It was a really pleasant surprise!
Though it’s not the nicest and most expensive bag there,
I still really really appreciate it!

I went to the airport with his parents to wait for his arrival.
and we were shocked to see him.
he put on weight! and he looked really lok kok after the 20 over hours flight.
he became a lot darker too.
poor ling…he has been working very hard over at US..
working 10+ hrs a day,
and still have to do all the housework himself.

The past 9 months was a very long wait,
but I didn’t feel very far from him actually.
It’s really the heart that matters,
not the distance.

But sadly, he’s only coming back for 3 weeks.
and that means, he’s leaving for US really soon.
He will be going off next thurs.
ultra SADNESS.
he said he wanna strike TOTO next monday,
so that he can don’t go back US.
hahahaha…if only it’s so easy dear..

dear dear…though u will be leaving again really soon..
i know it sounds kinda mushy,
but our hearts will still be together!
and don’t forget our promises!
let’s work hard for ourselves and for our future!

as much as I am going to miss ah ling,
I really miss all my girlfriends too.

Yes i’m back from my tw trip!
To be exact, I was back on the 14th.
I have been lazing around ever since I came back.
I have just finished unpacking my luggage today only. I didn’t really enjoyed myself a lot in tw,
bcos I WAS SICK!! damm…
I had a really terrible cough and I spent almost every night in hotel coughing away.
There were times that I just couldn’t stop coughing. :(
But overall, it was still quite a fun and fruitful trip!
TW is a really nice place!
The people there are nice, the food is good,
and the stuffs there are relatively cheap compared to Singapore.
and tw is surprisingly very cold now!
we were so surprised bcos when our plane just landed in tw,
the pilot said that it’s 30 degrees outside.
but after we came out from our hotel,
it was very very cold!
and throughout our one week stay in tw, everyday is cold!
abt 17-20 degrees only!
to make things worse, we actually brought shorts there. *faints*

I went on a free and easy trip with Yvonne!
She’s been a good friend of mine since sec sch.
We went to the same jc and we were both in band.
Both of us hated attending band practices, due to same reasons…
and we always skipped band lessons together..
and I remember that we would always take bus 105 to fep.
yup those were the days…
Anyway, I shall share with u guys my trip in tw!

Day 1
We arrived at tw airport at ard 5 plus in the evening…
look at our happy (and tired) faces..

We arrived at our hotel (Royal Castle Hotel) at ard 8pm.
The hotel is great!
Highly recommended for those who are looking for a hotel that is affordable yet has good location and service.
As soon as we put down our luggages,
we went out to the area near our hotel for dinner and some shopping!

know where is this area that is near my hotel?
it’s Ximending!
one of the most popular areas for youngsters in tw.
it’s indeed always crowded with young people and I saw filming done in that area twice!
too bad I didn’t get to see the celebrities. haha.
caught sight of some of the gals involved in the filming.
they are all 辣妹！！

see those two gals in hot undies? very 辣 right? ok enough of the hotties, show u gals some pics of the shopping area that I love.

these are the pics of a shopping mall called 诚品116 in ximending area.
this particular shopping mall sells all things from japan.
and that’s the reason y I like it. haha.
bcos I simply love everything from japan,
but yes, the stuffs are not cheap here.
but good news is, the japanese cosmetics are cheaper in tw!
I stocked up my shiseido products there. hehe.We had our first dinner in tw at a pasta cafe.
You must be thinking i’m silly but I had pasta for meals 3-4 times during my one-week stay.
I really really LOVE pasta. :P

the pasta was great!
and the food in tw is also relatively cheap compared to sg and many other places.
most of my meals didn’t exceed $10.
and those meals include sumptuous western and japanese cuisines!
we tried the bubble tea there too.
not really that fantastic as we thought.
but one thing that’s good abt the bubble tea there is that the straws are individually packed in plastic wrappers, which is more hygienic i think.

Day 2
It’s a shopping day!
We went to Zhongxiao-fuxing area.
That area is not too bad, got SOGO and some cheaper shopping areas.
There’s one SOGO that sells Jill Stuart’s cosmetics!
Their cosmetics are all very pretty!
but to my horror, all the blusher colours are sold out!
fyi, they have two types of blushers and each with ard 4-5 colours.
their lip colours are mostly sold out too.
they have practically very few items left for sale.
that’s y u can see some of the beauty consultants didn’t really bother promoting.
but of course there r some really really nice and professional ones.
I think the service quality in tw is way much better than in sg.
I experienced some really stucked up ones in sg. pui.
I have been in the service line b4 and I really cannot understand y there r just some pple who can show attitude problems to customers. >_<

Oh we had our lunch at MOS burger.
wanted to try the MOS burger there. hehe.
more or less quite the same as sg. but less variety i guess.

had my fav chilli dog and butterfly prawns!

After our shopping at Zhongxiao-fuxing, we went to the famous Wufenpu.
It’s really messy and cramp over there.
the walking paths were cramp and yet, there were still many vehicles coming from every direction (lorries and motorbikes).
it can get really frustrating, so I don’t really like that place.
Moreover, we can’t do much bargaining, the shop owners normally do not entertain us small buyers, bcos they handle mostly wholesales.

After that, we had dinner at a dining place that is much similar to hk cafe.
I ordered 三杯鸡套餐.
It’s quite nice. hehe.

Day 3
We went to 九份！
There’s nothing much there, just one lane of shops selling food and souvenirs.
but I think it’s still worth going there, for an experience and trying some of the tw snacks.
The journey to 九份 is longer because it is located outside taipei.
We had to go to taipei railway station and take a train to ruifang, and then a bus up to the 九份.
Yes, it is located up on the mountains, just like cameron highlands.

it’s quite yummy…hehe..

since we only had very little food for lunch,
we indulge in a very sumptuous dinner at the famous tamago ya!

I ordered this spaghetti + their famous omelette rice with thai sauce dory fish combo.
yes pasta again…haha..
it’s really good!
u all shd go try if u happen to go tw.
it’s at ximending, just opposite the mrt exit.
it’s quite prominent i think, so shd be easy to spot!

After dinner, we caught “what happens in vegas“!
the movie tickets are more exp in tw, abt $12 sgd.
but if u add ard $1+ sgd, u can get popcorn and drink.
so it’s more or less the same.
but the theatre that I went is kinda small.
so i guess watching movie in sg is better. hehe.

Day 4
It’s a lazing day for both me and yvonne.
we woke up late, at ard 10 plus in the morning.
and my “da yi ma” visited me. -_-
super siannnn.
so I didn’t have the mood to go out.
and yvonne were very tired too.
and we ended up buying lunch back to hotel to eat.
we bought the local instant noodles!

it’s a really big bowl of instant noodles and they have real 排骨 inside!
it’s quite delicious. hehe.
then we went to nap after eating.
very lazy i know.

At night, we went to Shilin Night Market!
didn’t take much photos cos busy shopping and eating. oops.

i think ddd will drool if he sees this…haha..

i think shilin is a nice place to shop and eat, so it’s a must-go!

Day 5
We went to watch the 我猜 recording!!!
and we met many Singaporeans there. hehe.
some of them are really really nice and friendly!
and i even saw one of my fyp mates there.
and after talking to her for some time,
i realized that she’s just staying in the room BESIDE me!!!
what a coincidence right?!

the studio is actually quite small…
it doesn’t seem as big as we saw on tv..

the 来宾 of that day includes 李妍瑾 and jiro wang (shit, i kept forgetting his chinese name, that guy from fei lun hai)
he looks much better in person!
much much better…those pretty boy look..
not my type…but still..i think he’s pretty good-looking.
and 李妍瑾 is super pretty!!
i prefer looking at pretty gals actually.

I think 吴宗宪 also looks better in person.
I think ah ya looks more or less quite the same.
but yvonne thinks that her face looks smaller in person.
and she seems really nice too!

look at this 吴宗宪 fanatic, he’s funny and cute. haha.
most of the time he will talk to himself and show us 吴宗宪’s childhood photos. HAHA.

the Singaporean audience…

the recording is kinda boring at times.
(I probably said this because I didn’t particularly like any of the guests…:P)
because we had to wait for the guests to arrive and so on.
but overall, it was still quite a good experience to have seen the recording live.

At night, we headed over to taipei city hall area.
it’s much like our suntec or CBD area.
all the high-class shopping malls and office buildings.
it is where taipei 101, the tallest building in tw, is located.
nope…we didn’t bother to go look for taipei 101, bcos we were too hungry and furthermore,
we heard that the entrance to taipei 101 is fucking expensive.

we didn’t spend much time over here, bcos everything is expensive.
yes we went back to ximending area (near our hotel) again.
we are surprised that each time we go back to ximending,
we will find new places that we didn’t go before.

Day 6
It is a very fun and exciting day!
We went to 六福村.
It’s a amusement park outside taipei.
The entrance tickets are expensive.
Each cost ard $40+ sgd.
so, to make sure that we fully utilize the $40+ sgd,
we took many many rides!!
I’m amazed at how courageous me and yvonne were. haha.
we took altogether 9 rides.
some really scary ones.
like the 风火轮 or something.
it turns 360 degrees.
and at the top, it even stopped there for a few seconds,
and left us hanging upside down!

but overall, we still enjoyed ourselves there. hehe.

In the evening, we went back to Wufenpu area,
but this time, to Raohe Night Market.
I personally prefer here to Wufenpu,
because u can also find lots of stalls selling pretty clothes and also lots of tw snacks!
the best thing is, here u can bargain with the stallholders, they are all generally quite nice.
This is a must-go place also!

we went for foot massage at night too!
at first, it’s kinda itchy and painful.
but after some time, it’s getting comfortable!
and it really helps to relieve all those arches and pain that we experience from all the walking.
it’s a good choice to go for a foot massage on the second last day. hehe.

Day 7
Our last day in tw…
We did some last minute shopping since we didn’t have much time left
before we need to head to the airport.
We went to taipei main station area bcos we heard that there’s a underground shopping area there that sells cheap shoes and stuffs.
In the end, we found out that we r cheated!
there’s not much stuffs there, and yes although there r cheap shoes,
but those shoes are quite similar to those we found elsewhere.
fyi, it’s quite disappointing bcos most of the shops selling shoes in tw
are selling pretty much the same designs.
and the shoes are not as nice as those we see in sg i think.
i think charles and keith and pazzion have nicer shoes.
the bags there are not as nice as those we saw in tw auctions also.
very very disappointing.
but fret not, the clothes there are quite nice and cheaper than what we see in sg.
so u can prepare to go bring back lots of clothes back!!!

and yes, I finally finished this blog entry!
tw is quite a nice place to go to, it’s quite similar to japan!
bcos those things I saw in japan, I saw them in tw too!
so tw is actually a cheaper alternative for all those like me,
who love japan but do not have $ to always go on a holiday to japan.

it was another day with my girlies again.
pegs, lianie, rossie and myself met up and watched “27 dresses” together!
it was our first movie together!
was hoping that sindy dearie would be there.
we miss u sindy dear!!the movie wasn’t as great as i thought.
but not too bad afterall, looking at all the pretty dresses, outfits and bags etc.
hahaha.
yes that’s so typical of gals to be looking out for all these.
though we didn’t do any shopping,
but the day was equally great spent over food, coffee and talks.
we talked abt anything we could think of.
there was an instance when we thought of which cartoon character we look like.
of course for me, it’s obvious that i look like anpanman.
面包超人。
rossie claimed that she looks like daisy duck.
we can’t think of any cartoon character for pegs.
and lianie…….
she told us that many pple commented that she looked like MINNIE MOUSE
during the sec sch days.
then she started tying all her hair up.
and YES INDEED, she looks like minnie mouse!!!

it was a first time experience for both of us.

and i was so worried that my face will turn darker!
so i covered my face most of the time during the tanning. :P
pegs and lianie kept laughing when i showed them the position of me in the tanning machine.

then lianie met up with us later at night!
we had dinner at mos burger along with our heart-to-heart talks.
and i bought a new trucker cap!

it was LOVE at first sight!
